Legami Dreamland

Our park dedicated to protecting nature and restoring biodiversity

The Protected Nature Reserve

Legami Dreamland is the protected nature reserve that we opened in Bergamo in May 2023, to mark the occasion of our brand’s first 20 years. We firmly believe that it is essential to allow flora and fauna to grow and flourish at their own natural rhythms, to ensure a sustainable future.

Legami’s deep commitment to the environment

An initiative like no other

Access to the area is prohibited in order to preserve and shield it from human intrusion, allowing it to become a new green lung where flora and fauna can regenerate and thrive.

We tackle biodiversity loss

Our wish is for our park to tackle the loss of biodiversity and urban natural capital, reduce global warming, and help improve air quality.

Extraordinary Results

One year on from its opening, the Dreamland reserve has achieved extraordinary results. Together with our scientific partner 3Bee, we’ve completed the first stage of the biodiversity assessment.

An integrated approach, combining satellite analysis, data from the Sentinel-II satellite and information from public databases, allowed us to generate indicators revealing that the presence offlowers, nectar and pollinating insects is 15 times greater on average than with the previous land use.

Highlights

+ 15 times more flowers

+ 15 times more nectar

+ 15 time more bees and insects

+ 3 times more nests

An Oasis of Biodiversity

We want to transform Dreamland into an oasis of biodiversity, with new homes for pollinators and a greater surface area of meadow, which will also increase the availability of flowers.

In order to advance the project further, we’ve already had Spectrum technology installed. This exclusive development from 3Bee enables the real-time monitoring of pollinating insects, recording and measuring acoustic frequencies to guarantee a transparent, quantitative analysis.

The Dreamland project is a manifestation of LEGAMI’s deep commitment to the environment, to the ecosystem and to society as a whole

The next steps

The following are some of the actions which have been identified and will be implemented with care:

1. The introduction of shelters to protect the shoots of smaller plants from the action of the strimmer.

2. A more authentically natural area, thanks to greater consideration given to mowing.

3. A reduction in the use of heavy equipment in favour of manual tools.

4. The construction of wetland with the use of natural materials.
